Sometimes speaking the truth can seem like a lack of optimism or enthusiasm, which is unfortunately what happened to Ray Maguire in a recent interview with Eurogamer. <p>
When asked about the launch of the PlayStation Move he offered, "am I expecting a massive day one? Not particularly. We didn't with EyeToy, either. It went on to be massively successful."

Sequels are part of the games industry. Video games are so expensive to produce that publishers look to sequels as a sort of guarantee on their investment. Occasionally, the opposite it also true. A company may invest so much in a game, trying to create a new franchise, that even if the original doesn't succeed, they will create a sequel to try to recoup their investment. Sometimes even game publishers can be ruled by cliches, "If at first you don't succeed..."
..."Top Gun" is not only a game based on a popular '80s movie, but also it's rumored to be a mod of a Macross flight game from Japan. While I've no confirmation, if it's true the game could be better than expected. On the other hand, if you're looking for a psycho buddy-game, look no further than Kane & Lynch 2.
...If Amazon.com is correct, "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow" will be released on Halloween (10/31/'10) . The eTailer also has released images of a limited edition.
"Castlevania: Lords of Shadow" limited edition is listed as running for $79.99 for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. It looks like the LE will include a soundtrack, artbook, and hand painted artwork on the cover.
...Madden NFL 11 really brought the house this year.
Simpler, cleaner, faster, and more fun. With true major changes to both the gameplay and features/offerings, this year's Madden not only offers a bigger step forward than years past, but refines the core game.
...For the week starting August 22, Target is selling "Legacy" Wii Consoles for $149.99, a savings of $50. It's the same Wii console, it just doesn't come with Wii Sports Resort (only Wii Sports) or a MotionPlus add-on (which Target also has on sale, attached to a Wii remote for $29.99). Not a bad deal, although arguably a MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort are worth the extra $50...
Taken a head blow and wondering if you need to go to the hospital? Why not play a little Wii Fit? Some universities are researching whether the severity of athlete's concussions can be reliably measure by having them try a few of Wii Fit's yoga poses. While not as accurate as balance-testing plates used in other schools, which cost tens of thousands of dollars, athletic trainers are hoping the Wii might just be good enough.
...After Wii users began to accidentally hurl their remotes into televisions and relatives, Nintendo thought it might be best to create a silicone sleeve to hold the remote. This serves the dual purposes of making the remote both grippier and less dangerous. For those who want something cooler than a cheap rubbery skin for their remotes, CM4 is offering the pricier, better-looking Catalyst sleeve.
...Ubisoft has just released the track list for Just Dance 2, and it's an interesting selection. Not only are there a lot of songs I really like (Walk Like An Egyptian, Call Me, Proud Mary) and singers that range from the great (James Brown, Rolling Stones) to the eh (Ke$sha), but there are a few interesting non-pop songs that include Bollywood and Charleston numbers. I don't know if I'll find the game any more satisfying than the original, but it's going to be great to listen to it.
...Remember that even though you may not like each other everyday.....it doesn`t mean that you don`t love each other everyday!

Dead Rising 2: Case: 0 is an Xbox 360 exclusive sneak peek at Dead Rising 2. Some have debated that it is little more than a paid demo, but for just 400MSP ($5) you get achievements and many, many hours of gameplay, so it feels like a fully enough featured release to us that we don't really mind. It is definitely fun and gives you a new setting to play in and new toys to kill zombies with, so we can't complain. Find out all of the details here in our mini-review.

The original Kane and Lynch, released in 2007, is more noteworthy for sparking a controversy that ultimately led to the creation of GiantBomb.com than anything gameplay related. For those that did actually play it, it was pretty darn mediocre all in all, but developer Io Interactive was given a second chance to clean up the franchise's reputation with a sequel. They were only partially successful, however. Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days is definitely a better game, but there is still something a little off. Find out all of the details in our full review.
In a surprising announcement, Microsoft has revealed that Xbox Live Gold subscription prices will be increasing starting November 1st, 2010.
- 12-Month subscriptions will increase from $49.99 to $59.99.
- 3-Month subscriptions will increase from $19.99 to $24.99.
- 1-Month subscriptions will increase from $7.99 to $9.99.

Mafia II poses an interesting problem for players. It tells a decent story filled with fascinating characters that you'll want to see through to the end, but the gameplay is surprisingly boring. When you can just sit back and watch it is fairly entertaining, but when you actually have to play it Mafia II is rather dull. And that is generally a bad trait for a videogame. Find out all of the details here in our full review.

Wrapping up Microsoft's Summer of Arcade 2010 is the fifth and final entry, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. This isn't a normal Tomb Raider adventure - hence the "Lara Croft" title instead of "Tomb Raider" - but may actually be something better. Guardian of Light is a well-paced blend of twin stick shooter-style combat, rewarding exploration, multi-layered puzzle solving, and light platforming all wrapped in lush visuals with a great co-op focus. For gamers that thought LIMBO was a bit too artsy-fartsy, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light may just be the best game from the 2010 Summer of Arcade.

The fourth week of the Summer of Arcade 2010 on Xbox Live Arcade brought us Monday Night Combat. Initially, the concept seemed a little goofy - an over the top third-person-shooter game show - but the execution is beyond anything we could have hoped for. This isn't just yet another shooter. This is the evolution of tower defense wrapped in a shooter shell. And it is surprisingly excellent. Find out all of the details right here.
MTV Games and Harmonix have officially announced the full on-disc tracklist for Rock Band 3. We have all 83 songs right here.

As Santa checks his list twice this year, he defiantly won’t be putting the kiddies who ask for in the nice category. First, those youngsters have ...Two weeks ago I posted that the Enchanted: Once Upon Andalusia GBA game scheduled to release alongside its Nintendo DS counterpart never ended up hitting store shelves on its intended release date. Well it has finally…and quietly…surfaced, but instead of being the wide release it was announced to be, the game has ended up a Target Exclusive.
...One of the things I’m constantly preaching on this site is how gamers can be more environmentally friendly with their Game Boys by using rechargeable batteries, solar powered chargers and other alternative energy sources. It was to my utter dismay that I discovered Nintendo ranked at the very bottom of the Bad list in Greenpeace’s Guide to Greener Electronics, with a zero score in the criteria that Greenpeace uses to measure how environmentally conscious is an electronics manufacturer. Nintendo shares the Bad list with Xbox makers Microsoft who have poor policies regarding toxic chemicals elimination. PlayStation 3 and PSP owners out there should be proud to know that Sony is ranked third from the top of the Good list scoring a 7.3 out of 10.

...Celebrate the Day of the Dead with a review of Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare for the Game Boy Color
Halloween is finally here! The day that we all dress up as our favorite ghoul, ghost or monster and play Game Boy! What? You’d rather go trick-or-treating or to a Halloween party than spend Halloween playing video games? Well, I guess I can’t blame you, but once you’ve brought home your candy haul and drying off from bobbing for apples, there is nothing better to end the spookiest night of the year than with a Game Boy Horror Game!
...They’re Creepy and their kooky; Mysterious and spooky; Their all together ookey, and they’re the only 60s sitcom to be made into a Game Boy Game. As a matter of fact, The Addams Family are so video game friendly that they've starred in 20 games for various Computers, Consoles and Game Boys! Heck, The Musters don’t even come close, having only put out two games, both for early 8-bit computers.
